The ‘Little Big Horn’ commemoratives were introduced in 1976 to commemorate the time Custer explored the concept of FAFO with the Sioux & just 11,000 were actually made in memory of this.

Commemorative is a lever-action rifle with a gold-plated receiver, barrel bands, and buttplate, released in 1976 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Little Bighorn. These firearms were manufactured in both carbine and rifle versions and are chambered in .44-40 WCF caliber, with included special markings.

Offered for sale is this nice Winchester ‘Little Big Horn’ Commemorative Model 94 rifle in excellent overall condition which appears unfired but this is no guarantee. What can be seen is that it has never had a round through the loading gate!

Winchester Commemoratives were first introduced in 1964 & each Commemorative was issued as a reproduction of a historically famous gun model or to honor a historically significant person, group, event or institution relating to U.S. or Canadian history.

Commemoratives are generally of very excellent quality & are often embellished with fancy stocks & metal finishes such as silver, nickel or gold plating. Manufactured to be instant collectibles, they are pleasing to the eye.
